Oprah is Praised For Her Leadership Academy in Africa

Oprah Winfrey opened up her school outside of Johannesburg, South Africa in January of 2007. The purpose of the school is to instill confidence and appreciation of beauty to girls who would otherwise never be able to afford to have a great education. The purpose was also to have the girls surrounded by a beautiful campus and to have the opportunity to look at original pieces of art. The school is called the Leadership Academy for Girls. This forty million dollar facility was supported, in part, by several American celebrities and other educational foundations.

Nelson Mandela was present at the dedication, along with many of Oprah's fans and supporters of this great project. She has been showered with praise for her efforts and personal contributions to the young ladies of Africa. There will be one hundred and fifty students with plans to go to two hundred and fifty students. The people of Africa are very proud of this new endeavor and, of course, are her biggest fans for bringing attention to the plight of girls in the African society.

Oprah's fans have joined in the praise for her efforts. This will bring an awareness and gratitude from the medical community, because part of the girl’s education is teaching them about sexual awareness and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. The whole community and surrounding areas will benefit from this school and the people of the community are grateful to Oprah for this Leadership Academy for Girls.
