Oprah Winfrey created “O” Magazine for the everyday woman. Due to her overwhelming popularity, Ms. Winfrey decided to create a magazine that would give and provide insight into some of the things Oprah herself has learned along the way. The magazine first appeared on newsstands in the year 2000. The first issue of “O” focused on the now popular theme “Live Your Best Life” and each issue since contain a different emotion or lesson.
The reason behind the creation of “O” Magazine was to allow a person in each issue to gleam and learn some life lessons filled with humor and advice with inside thoughts from Oprah herself. “Here We Go,” the title of one of her columns allows one to glimpse into some of Oprah’s favorite things. The issue includes features as well as messages pertaining to the season. The last page of the magazine is s dedicated to Oprah’s “What I Know For Sure,” in which she relives for us moments in her daily life as well as her goals, dreams or observations in others that she wishes to share with her readers. “O” covers a vast array of topics and issues that we all deal with and are interested in. Topics include and range from simple recipes to serve at the next party or infidelity.
Other feature sections include Personal Growth, Lifestyle, Culture and Humanities, Home and Garden, Fashion, Entertainment, Food, Drink and Nutrition, Health, Beauty and Fitness, Business, Technology and World News and Relationships. This particular magazine provides many women with the opportunity to make an impact in today’s society. “O” Magazine provides a voice for women to speak and connect with other women. It allows each individual to see every experience and challenge as an opportunity to grow and discover the best in themselves.
