If there is anyone who can inspire, electrify and teach people to be themselves all at the same time, it’s Oprah Winfrey. This independent, female African-American billionaire has her own talk show, magazine and her own horde of fans. All of which allow her to reach people in need and help them rise above their problems. Fans from all over the country, from coast to coast, will flock just to catch a glimpse of her or to say hello and tell her about their lives.
Many times, Oprah has shared how she grew up in very meager accommodations in her life and how she has risen to the position she now holds through spiritual help. That is an aspect that many of her fans can relate to and something that she seems to project whenever people are around her. A sense that you can turn your life if you just believe in yourself and try. Maybe that’s why her show’s tickets are always sold out, bid on and fought over!
Winfrey did not disappoint her Seattle fans in May 2003 even when she changed clothes three times during her five hour speaking engagement that month. She made only four scheduled appearances that year and many went to see her. Reportedly, one Seattle fan paid around $1,500 for her and some of her friends to go see one of Winfrey’s live shows. Another fan was handing out bumper stickers claiming that Oprah should be President but she isn’t interested in the idea at all!
Whether they be man, woman or a child, according to Oprah, someone matters simply because they exist. Oprah Winfrey truly has many talents and many ways of reaching those who need help, especially her loyal fans in Seattle.
