Oprah Winfrey's Most Devoted Fans in San Diego

In San Diego there are devoted fans of Oprah Winfrey who believe she is the most uplifting talk show host in the world. Oprah brought the musical version of “The Color Purple” to the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. It is an award-winning production based on Alice Walker's novel of the same name. Oprah starred in the movie and is one of the musical's investors. “The Color Purple” is showing at the Civic Theatre on Third Avenue and B Street in downtown San Diego. Although the novel and movie dealt with serious issues like racism and sexual abuse, the musical is a bit more light-hearted. It's no less poignant, though, and Oprah fans understand that.

San Diego fans always welcome Oprah with open arms, even if she chooses to attend Dodgers games rather than the hometown Padres. Many San Diegan women look up to her as a role model. They feel like even though Oprah is one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in the world, they can relate to her just as easily as with a friend or neighbor.

Fans in San Diego learn a great deal of information about life by watching Oprah’s television show each day. They value Oprah's opinions and respect her for her achievements. Fans and non-fans alike have praised her significant amount of charity work. In addition to life lessons, viewers in San Diego look to Oprah for motivation and inspiration, and she usually delivers. Her show has always been about empowering people to realize their dreams.
