Arizona Oprah Fans

Oprah Winfrey’s fans all over the country have divided due to her endorsement of Sen. Obama in the presidential race and those in the state of Arizona are no different. Some say she has become a traitor choosing a man over a woman but, many are saying that she is pitting black against white.

According to the CNN Political Ticker, fans are responding like this: "Oprah," says one, "count me as tuned out for now." Another writes, "It's a real turn off for a lot of your fans." And yet another says "She has crossed a line and lost my trust completely."

However, other fans who see Oprah as an icon are defending her right to choose. As one Arizona fan put it, “Why is it black against white...what is the ethnic background of the rest of the republican/democratic presidential possibilities?”

In May of 2007, Newsmax reported that three out of four Oprah TV Show viewers are female and a growing number are gay males. But this fan base extends beyond the USA borders! The Wall Street Journal reported that “MBC 4, an Arab satellite channel, centered its entire programming around reruns of the Oprah show because it was drawing record numbers of female viewers in Saudi Arabia."

One highlight of 2007 was “Oprah and Gayle’s Big Spa Adventure” which took place at the Miraval Life in Balance Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona. Sixty women joined Oprah and Gayle for a five day stay at this fabulous getaway! Many fans are still talking about it today.

Whatever you may think or feel about Oprah Winfrey, one thing is certain, her current and former fans are very passionate about her. Her comings and goings, everything she says and does, are watched and commented upon in blogs and message boards all over the internet!
