Oprah is one of the leading T.V. personalities that does a lot for people.  She gives money to charities and runs contests on her show that people can enter and win great prizes. Because she gives things away does that make her a good person?

There are several websites where people can leave their comments about Oprah.  Some of the comments on the website are good, while other comments can be very negative to the point of being obscene. One of the comments Judy Swager stated that Oprah "has a good heart and she's honest." Many of the comments on the site were written by people from Chicago. Some were fans, while the people who made negative comments were not really true fans.

Just one fact that shows the significance of Oprah's fan base is her store in Chicago.  At the storefront, they sell items that Oprah has promoted on her show.  The things that are sold in the store are often used for comfort and self expression. Oprah does a lot of activities on her show that deal with self expression and health issues.

How many fans can one T.V. personality have?  Can fans disagree on issues and still be fans of a T.V. personality? Life as a T.V. personality can be rough and ever changing. People can change their attitude toward you very quickly some times for a short period of time and sometimes forever. Although Oprah sometimes stirs up a bit of controversy, her continuing popularity is a testament to the devotion of her fans.
