Oprah Winfrey in NYC

Oprah mania hit the streets of the Big Apple Sept 2007 after a decade of absence. Her comeback was long overdue but the fans' reception and enthusiasm were still high on their agenda. America’s media talk show mogul made a return visit to New York City to the sound of adoring and loving fans. Oprah craze took the city by storm by kicking off her 22nd season at the WaMu Theatre at Madison Square Garden on September, 10 2007. To the arousing excitement of her devoted fans she received an unprecedented standing ovation.

There were two shows scheduled to include 5600 screaming and yelling admirers.  One of the shows was with David Letterman who shared the spot light with Lisa Marie Presley. During commercial breaks the fans continued to cheer their icon. The other show was a very moving episode of the fatal day in NYC known in history as 9/11. It was a tribute to the lives lost as well as the survivors. Oprah felt it was only fitting to have the show where it all began that fatal morning and to pay homage to New Yorkers. It was with real people, people who embraced her and loved her. Only New York fans could give her a true New York welcome. It was an experience of her lifetime.

The fans have respect for her as well as deep abiding admiration. Oprah is one of kind in the hearts and minds of her loyal fans. She is extremely outgoing, very pleasant and caring of all people. She is an overwhelming icon in the eyes of New Yorkers.
