Chicago's Oprah Fans

Oprah's Harpo Productions is based in Chicago, and everyone knows how generous she is. She is always giving away gifts and cash so why not in the city where her business is. This gave some con artist's the opportunity of selling fake tickets to the Oprah show for $550.00 up to $950.00 promising the buyers that they were going to get cash gifts up to $50,000. Being an avid Oprah fan it is very easy to get sucked into a scam like that. There were a lot of people out of thousands of dollars from another scam. A phony check was sent that was supposedly from Oprah. They were to cash it and send back a large sum to cover the fee for processing a larger sum that Oprah was going to send them. Of course they bought into it because they're from Chicago (right by Harpo Productions).

Chicago fans of Oprah are rated among the craziest, (as one woman put it) when she went to one of her shows and was pushed down the stairs by the crazed fans. She said the fans were in a room when they were told that they could enter the studio and sit wherever they wanted to in the audience. When they heard that they got so excited that they just stampeded out the door and down the steps knocking her down in the process and kept on going. She felt that the crowd should have been supervised by the staff of Harpo Productions and not allowed to just run free like a bunch of animals. They really love Oprah!
