Oprah’s Fans

It should be no surprise that fans of Oprah Winfrey come from all walks of life, young and old, rich and poor, the famous and the everyday joe.   Oprah, at times, seems bigger than life, and at other times, she’s just the gal next door; Oprah has lived on both sides.  She’s a child of unspeakable abuse and poverty who persevered through it all to become one of the most influential women in the world.  

Most fans of Oprah say that, at times, they feel like she is speaking directly to them.  It doesn’t seem to matter what the subject is, fans relate to Oprah on every level.  Many just enjoy that fact that Oprah introduces them to the celebrities of our time and presents them as everyday people.  Others take her self help advice to heart and improve their own lives.  Some are spiritually inspired, and others are motivated to give of themselves to make a better world.  Oprah’s devout commitment to education and reading has inspired millions of fans to pick up a book or go back to school.

Several years ago, there was a fan movement to get Oprah Winfrey nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.  Fans cited that her ongoing efforts to help the poor, feed the hungry, house the homeless, reduce crime and AIDS as only a few reasons that she is deserving of the ultimate Peace Prize.  Oprah is still one of the most intelligent, gifted people and continues to influence and inspire her fans around the world.
