Oprah Fans

Oprah Winfrey's fans are nothing if not enthusiastic! Recently, on a taping of her show the audience spontaneously went into a frenzy before she even announced what the gift was going to be. Husbands in the audience who had accompanied their wives were confused. Oprah was overwhelmed. And the love just kept coming. The video clip has turned up online on more than one site, but on this particular site the clip was labeled, "Oprah Fans Are Insane." Her audiences have been spoofed before, but better be careful about whom you are calling insane. Oprah is protective of her audience and gets offended when people make fun of them.

Oprah fans love her and they love each other. Besides logging onto Oprah.com for information on all things Oprah (and there are a lot of Oprah things!), there are other Oprah Winfrey sites that can provide forums and even an Oprah fan club store. There is actually a website at theoprahfanclub.com that gives daily updates and news about Oprah's show. There is also information about her book club, and advertising and links for sale at this site. It also offers an RSS feed. You must become a member and log in before you can access the information at the site or leave a comment.

At oprah.meetup.com you are invited to join the meet-up group nearest to you from around the country to meet face to face with like-minded Oprah fans. You can also form friendships that encompass other interests, but the site is using Oprah, "fan-dom," for the common thread among those that meet.
